He started his Engineering Career with Pan Ocean Oil Corporation Nigeria in 1995. A Petroleum Engineer who has acquired competencies in all phases and aspects of hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation. He has managed organization,  set-up operationally, technically and administratively to crystalize into a full revenue generation model. His strength lies in start-up, growing, maturing and sustaining Oil and Gas Assets and Organization, with sound HSE Philosophy and good moral values. His strong interpersonal relationship with his peers in the Oil and Gas Environment, mostly in Nigeria-based International Oil Companies (IOCs), the Marginal Field Operators (MFOs) and with strong network in the regulatory bodies (DPR, FMENV, etc.) and Government Companies (NNPC, NPDC, NAPIMS etc.), gave credence to his rapid growth in the Industry.

2. Set up an Ultra-Modern Early Production Facility (EPF) and Group Gathering Facility (GGF) using Omni Flow Computers,  at Midwestern’s Umusadege Facility in Delta State.
3.  A unique crude oil injection hub for 5 Marginal Field Operators, with explicitly defined Hydrocarbon Accounting Philosophy, in his capacity as the pioneer Head of Operations.
4. Supported several Oil & Gas Producing Marginal Field Operators e.g. Platform Petroleum / New Cross JV and Midwestern Oil and Gas / MART Resources JV, to achieve First Oil in record time, with sound and uncompromising HSE virtues.
5. . Devised primary cementing and squeeze job calculation software package (Cementing Simulator).
6.  Multitalented in Production Optimization strategies, Oil Well Cementing Techniques, Custody Transfer Operations and by extension - Oil and Gas Accounting Principles.

Dr. Tahir is a research oriented academic professional, his interest in finding practical solutions for the industry makes him regular consultant and trainer for the corporate world. Tahir's research contribution is 38 in journals of repute in addition to a book and 20 international conference presentations. Being a member of world high ranked societies like Academy of Management, Society of Human Resource Management he performs different roles ranging froma reviewer and session chair to a doctoral examiner. Prior to that, he spent 3 years at MetLife as a Manager of Internal Audit where he managed and increased key risk coverage in various business areas and processes. His responsibilities included leading periodic reviews of Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance and reviewing processes to identify and mitigate risks.
