Analyzes response to and recovery from disaster events across different social units (e.g., household, organizations, communities). Examines paradigms, theories and models that aid in the understanding of disaster response and sustainable recovery. Explores the ways in which life in a digital world is influencing and shaping response and recovery practices. This Course Examines what is empirically known about disaster response and sustainable recovery and appraises the implications of this knowledge for advancing response and recovery practice.

Program Eligibility

Applicants are required to provide proof of successful completion of a university degree or two-year College Diploma (minimum) or equivalent in a related discipline, OR related work experience in emergency management.

Applicants who have not completed a university degree or college diploma may be considered based upon relevant emergency management work experience and/or post-secondary credits achieved. These applicants will be assessed individually.

• Officers and staff of  state and national emergency management agencies
• Officers and staff of  organization, state and national fire service
• Officers and staff of paramilitary agencies, Non- governmental organization, construction firms etc involve in disaster response.
• Officers and staff of Police and Armed forces involve in advancing disaster response and recovery operations.
• Officers and staff of Organizations, Ministries, Departments, Agencies  including those with safety management responsibility
• Individual participants are welcome; management teams are encouraged to attend

Admissions

Because a diverse participant mix is an important part of every CPSPD Emergency Management program, we look for candidates who reflect a broad range of industries, functions, countries, and backgrounds to enrich the learning experience.

No payment is necessary until you have been accepted into  CPSPD Emergency Management program. After admission notification, we will send you an invoice via email; payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date. If admission is within 30 days prior to the start of the program, payment is due upon receipt of the invoice. Payment is required prior to the program start date. We accept payment by company cheque, bank wire transfer, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard). Details are included on the program invoice.

If you need to cancel or defer participation, you must submit your request in writing more than 30 days before the start of the program to receive a full refund. Due to program demand and the volume of preprogram preparation, cancellations or deferrals received 14 to 30 days prior to the start of the program are subject to a fee of one-half of the program fee. Requests received within 14 days are subject to full payment.

Requirements

Although there are no formal educational requirements, admission is a selective process based on professional achievement and organizational responsibility. We look for professionals who have demonstrated emergency management talent and leadership potential.

CPSPD Emergency Management programs enrich both participants and their organizations, and require full commitment from each party.

Language Proficiency

We deliberately design our programs to encourage individual growth and to foster productive interaction among participants. For that reason, proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
