Future thinking is a creative and exploratory process that
uses divergent thinking, seeking many possible answers and acknowledging
uncertainty. It's a different mindset to analytical thinking which uses
convergent thinking to seek the right answer and reduce uncertainty
This course will incorporate horizon scanning (HS) or
horizon scan which is a method from future studies, sometimes regarded as a
part of foresight. It is the early detection and assessment of emerging
technologies or threats by main policymakers to enable organizations to prepare
ahead.
