Theme: Digital Preservation: Re-Imagining Research Experience
Through the Use of E-Library
Course Description
Digital preservation is a complex technical,
social, economic, and organizational issue. Its complexity in E-libraries stems
from the fact that it is interwoven into the process of creating, using, and
maintaining a wide array of digital materials and collections. The
sustainability of digital content depends on the careful management of
preservation risks, organizational policies, institutional commitment, and
technical infrastructure (Bradley, 2007; Corrado and Moulaison, 2014).
One major importance of the e-Library is its
role in Research. The implementation of the e-Library greatly assists
librarians, educationists, and the entire public in obtaining information more
quickly. It will be right to say that research experience can best be
re-imagined through the use of e-Library.
Therefore, there is a dire need for digital
preservation because it is the conduit pipe for the effective use of e-Library.
